About POP Choir

Pearls of Praise Choir (abbreviation: POP Choir) is the contemporary music choir of GHAMSUKNUST Local which dominantly deals with musically related activities such as praise, adoration, church ministrations, etc. POP Choir is a campus music ministry which originally emanated from the then Presbyterian Methodist Students Union(PMSU) in 1997 with its bye-laws drawn on the 30th July, 1999 prior to its maiden album launch (‘Onoa’) in 2001. The ministerial boundaries of the choir however, does extend much beyond KNUST to neighboring churches, senior high schools, towns and villages as well as other tertiary institutions within and without its territorial home, Kumasi. POP Choir has grown to become an exceedingly loveable family of all Pearls, worthy of praise to God our King.
Slogan: GOD IS GOOD, All the time.

1. To minister to the hearts of all people.
2. To lead the congregation in praises, adoration and song ministrations during church service and other church programs.
3. To assist in the evangelism activities of the church through music.

As members of the choir, we seek to live our lives to God with gratitude in our hearts, alertness of mind and keen sense of purpose.
We seek to be discipline academically, socially and financially but will not let that kill our sense of adventure.
We cherish purity.
We reveal God’s glory as we live our lives to please Him.
